Quick note! I only have a few spaces left in my Intermediate Tarot class. See more information and link to registration, here.

“Why is (She) calling me?” so many people are asking.

“She” often means Hekate, The Morrigan, Lilith, Kali…the Goddesses that tend to scare people.

I surely don’t need to say it, but we’re in scary times. One could argue that times have always been scary and for many of us, that’s true. But there are quite a lot of folx who have lived most of their lives in relative comfort and presumed safety. Those folx are waking up to the reality much of the world already knows: the people in power are keep you unsafe and no one is coming to save us…but us.

Maybe these Goddesses are calling to us. Or maybe there’s a part of our spiritual psyche that craves them: Goddesses who call out truth to power, who overthrow oppressive forces, who protect the innocent, who warn us when we are going in the wrong direction.

Has one called you? If you’re reading this, my guess is yes.

Now what?

Responding to a Dangerous Goddess is not necessarily about making major changes to our lives. It doesn’t always mean facing tear gas or rubber bullets. It may not even mean making grand sweeping statements on social media.

What it can mean is responding to the small moments every day: a supportive word for someone who needs it. Making space at the proverbial (or actual) table for someone usually left out. Removing a barrier or at least, pointing out its existence. Listening to understand. As Maya Angelou said, doing your best every day and when you know better, do better. Forgiving yourself when you make a mistake and intentionally learning from it, rather than denying it.

Each day brings a new opportunity to follow the call of the Dangerous Goddess. Today, mine was writing this post so that you would read it. What will today bring you?

No matter what it does, I hope it also brings you joy. <3
