With so much coming at our heads these days, the idea of “reading Tarot” can itself be overwhelming. But Tarot is meant to help us in challenging times. It does not need to be one more task on an ever-growing list.
If the world feels like it’s too much, don’t avoid Tarot. Instead, keep your readings SUPER SIMPLE.
Rather than a big, complicated spread, try pulling a single card for one of these questions:
What do I need to know right now?
How can I best support myself in this trying time?
What is adding to my overwhelm?
Where can I best find joy today?
The Questions in Action
I’ll put myself out there and pull for these for myself! As a reminder, my recommendation is to pull only one of these for yourself at a time. But for the sake of teaching, I’m pulling for all of them!
Let’s see what the cards say:

What do I need to know right now? The Tower. While the Tower is never an easy card, it can mean a break-through as much as a break-down. This may also be a sign to me to not hold on too hard to what’s not working and let certain things fall away.
How can I best support myself in this trying time? 3 of Wands Reversed. It’s probably better for me to keep my focus close to home, rather than worry about what’s going on “out there.” This card, when Reversed, can also indicate a warning against running away with fantasies or problems.
What is adding to my overwhelm? 9 of Wands Reversed. Reversed cards can also indicate inner conditions. When upright, the 9 of Wands indicates fears of being injured, perhaps re-injured in a similar manner as once before. True—I have some fears I’ve been quietly ruminating on. Maybe it’s time to slow down the ruminating thoughts.
Where can I best find joy today? Temperance. There is joy in the balance, and there is joy in nature. I did take a lovely walk today which helped my cortisol levels immensely. 🙂 I may need to find time to take one more!
Did you try one of these? What did you get? How did it help you?
