One of the biggest obstacles would-be Tarot readers have is the idea that learning Tarot is yet one more thing to add to their list. And frankly, everyone’s list is already way too long.
But learning Tarot is not a box to check. It is NOT one more thing you “need” to do.
Tarot is a tool. Not a chore.
Learning it does not “certify” you as a Magickal person…nor does not learning it make you a less Magickal person.
Tarot is a tool for connecting with your inner intuition.
The practice of looking at the pictures in the cards, and noticing how they manifest in your life experiences, naturally makes us more in-tune with our spiritual impulses.
I think of Tarot like consulting a weather app.
When I pull up a weather app, I’m looking for information to better help me get through my day. I look at the conditions and dress accordingly. Knowing what the weather is doing helps me plan for where I’m going to direct my energy: Take a hike in the woods or stay inside and clean on the closets? If I can’t avoid being outside because of the weather, the app tells me whether to wear a rain-jacket or tank-top!
But I am not beholden to the app.
I don’t wake up every morning, sigh, and think, “Oh, boy. When am I going to have the time or energy to check the app??? I don’t understand every single metric of precipitation! What’s the point???”
Tarot is no different.
The more we utilize the Tarot, the better we understand it, and the more information our readings will offer us.
Let this be the year Tarot becomes a tool, not a task.
