This week’s Tarot Tutorial question came from TikTok: What do you suggest here – I feel called to pull some cards but once I’m there shuffling it’s like my head feels blocked? Or too jumbled?
It happens to the best of us!
If this happens to you, here are my three best methods for addressing this problem:
1.) Write down a specific question before shuffling
Keep it clear and direct. Examples might be How do my colleagues at work view my contribution? or How will my love life improve over the next year? By picking a question in advance and spelling it out clearly, you can stop trying to focus on the question while shuffling.
2.) Shuffle without a question. Then, focus on a question without shuffling and cut the deck.
I often shuffle while formulating a question and cut once the question is clear in my mind. I also utilize this when reading for people in-person as I often have my clients cut the deck themselves.
3.) Take a break and return to the reading later.
When our minds get jumbled while shuffling, we might be too close to the situation. We may even be nervous about the answer. Walk away from the deck, do something with your hands (the dishes, the laundry, or clean the bathroom sink) and try again later!
