When I was a little girl….my favorite food was fried chicken.

Me at 5 (I think). A family dinner..I’m sure fried chicken was on the other end of that salivating gaze.
I loved it SO much that my mom taught me how to batter, flour, and fry it when I was six. Now, I make it for my friends and my partner, who LOVES himself a good fried chicken dinner. Last year, I wrote about doing things I love for people I love. Cooking is one of those things–frying chicken in particular. It’s now become tradition that I fry chicken at the annual 4th of July bash at my the house of my friends Sean and Wendi.
This year, I fried 15 pounds because I really love my friends and frying chicken. Some might argue that I also have a need to make a scene.
I also made this Mac n’ Cheez.

My Buffalo Mac n’ Cheez: an old family recipe with a twist. You may ask for the recipe, but you shall not receive. Ever.
To say the food was treated with the same politeness and restraint of a pack of jackals would be a bit of an understatement. It is a sign, however, of deep appreciation of the food if people trample the weak and steal from unguarded plates to get their fill. I am pleased with the results of yesterday’s Doing for Others That I Love.
Also…..this is the follow-up to When a Witch Has A Bad Day
Read and Know Thyself.
