Who is the goddess of writers? Who is the Pagan goddess of creativity? What does Brigid symbolize? Who is the goddess of poetry in Ireland?
I can hardly stand it.
For YEARS I’ve wanted to offer an online writing class…but so much of my own writing journey is rooted in my Magickal and Spiritual practice, it seemed impossible to offer a class without some sort of connection to it.
The Goddess and Saint Brigid has been a mix of solid foundation, guiding light, and sometimes an infuriating enigma on my writing journey. Some of my early questions included: “Who is Brigid?” “How can she help my writing journey?” “How can I break through my creative blocks AND better understand Brigid?”
I know I am not alone, and I KNOW I could have used this sort of class when I started my writing journey.
And because I am SOOOOO excited, I can’t wait until March 1 (when this four week virtual class begins) to share my plans!
A sneak peek of my new class, Brigid for Writers!
Each class will break down as follows (subject to change! But here is the plan…):
- Opening with Irish prayer
- A Brigid teaching. Looking at a myth about Brigid from a Native Irish perspective, along with cultural context. This part of the class will really dig into not just the story, but what it may have meant in Irish history and what it may mean today for people every
- A journey, meditation, ritual to meet and/or connect with Brigid.
- Q&A Courtney and Orlagh. Pick our brains about the work we just did!
- Writing prompt. Specially crafted from the myth studied at the start of the class, put those pens to the paper and break through like you never have before.
- Writing and Magickal assignment for the week. Oh, yes. You’ll have homework and craftwork for the week! Every class will conclude with work you’ll do on both your writing and work for your spiritual journey for the week. If you add the study hall option, you’ll have the chance to meet with us halfway through the week to ask questions and get feedback!

Those who attend the Wednesday study hall will have the opportunity to:
- Ask a question about Brigid, Irish spirituality, or Magickal practice
- Share a piece of writing for group feedback
- Get insight on a dream or Magickal experience
- Pick our brains about something else all together!

In this four week virtual class (with the option to add a live study-hall), you’ll explore the myths of Brigid from an authentic Irish perspective, develop ritual and Magickal practice, and utilize messages and insight from Brigid myths to enhance and expand your spiritual journey.
Each class will include:
- Exploration and discussion of Brigid myth
- Brigid prayers and suggested rituals rooted in Native Irish practices
- Meditation work designed deepen connection with Brigid and inspire creative work
- Writing prompts designed to spark creativity, address fears around writing, and break through creative blocks
- Weekly assignments designed to challenge, deepen, and support your spiritual journey and expand creative abilities
Optional add-on: Virtual Study Hall with Courtney and Orlagh. In the study hall sessions, bring your writing work for feedback, discuss your creative or spiritual challenges or experiences, and get personal support on your creative and/or Brigid-led journey.
