A gem for your Wednesday….
A co-worker of mine this article from the Huffington Post which showed Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, on the Mr. Roger’s show back in 1975. She talked about her character being frustrated and never getting what she wanted, and therefore being misunderstood.
Such a sweet lady. Such a lovely interview:
My favorite exchange of the interview:
Ms. Hamilton: “[A witch] was the thing I always wanted to dress up as — just like lots of other children would rather be a witch than almost anything else.”
Mr. Rogers: “Well, girls and boys like to dress up as witches.”
Bravo, Mr. Rogers. And bravo Ms. Hamilton!

Oh my goodness, this is delightful.
Although I would argue that *especially* witches need pockets.
Right???? And I love Ms. Hamilton’s sleeves. The bell sleeve catch fire all too easily. That dress would be great to wear at an autumn or winter bonfire. Warm, but low risk of alighting sleeves.
