Once upon a time, I lived in an old house that needed a LOT of repairs.
During one of the many renovations, the workers found a shoebox inside the wall. Inside the shoebox was a collection of old letters that belonged to a teenaged boy in the 1920s, correspondence with a plethora of girlfriends up and down the Oregon coast.
One of the girls seemed quite taken with the boy, but mentioned in the letters that she felt his feelings weren’t reciprocated. In one letter, she bid him a kind farewell, noting that she hadn’t heard from him in so long that she had accepted he was no longer interested in her.
But the follow-up letter was scathing.
Apparently, after her previous letter, the boy started showing up at dances to spy on her with other boys. She was LIVID and was NOT HAVING HIS ANTICS.
Here’s what I learned from reading the old letters…
Keeping Tabs Is Timeless
And in this day of social media, phones, and being able to have allll of our business out in the world, it’s easier than ever to keep tabs on someone.
The Tarot knows that. Below is a list of some cards that specifically suggest someone is keeping tabs on you.
But first, two reminders:
- Tomorrow (Friday, 11/6) is the last day to apply for a scholarship for Advanced Tarot Intensive. Apply here.
- NEW CLASS: The Morrigan: A Tough Goddess For Tough Times. Register here.
If you pull one of these, YES. They are keeping tabs on you.
5 and 7 of Swords. In the RWS deck, the characters in these cards are looking over their shoulders. Any card where the character is walking one way but looking behind them suggests that someone is checking in on what they left behind.
2 of Wands. In the RWS deck, this is the quintessential social media card, where a character has a globe in their hand (giving the energy of holding the “world wide web”). This person is combing your social media profiles to keep tabs.
8 of Wands Reversed. This card, when Reversed, suggests energy meant to go in one direction (such as away), is moving back to the source. They might be pretending that that they aren’t paying attention to you…but they definitely are.
Page of Cups: This is a card of receiving a message. They likely have someone who is doing the tabs-keeping and is bringing the tea to them.
The Magician: The sneakiest card in the Major Arcana (even more than the Devil!). If you’re wondering if someone is keep tabs and THIS appears, yup. And they’re being super shady in how they’re doing it.
The Devil Reversed: While perhaps not as clever as the Magician, it’s toxic nonetheless. It indicates some sinister motives and definitely sneaky moves. Think fake IG profile to stalk your profiles…
Honorable Mentions:
4 of Pentacles: They may not be keeping tabs, but you are haunting their thoughts. BIG TIME.
6 of Cups: They’re acting friendly, or keeping close to your friends, in order to get information…not to be a real friend.
