If you read Tarot long enough, you will come across these situations:
Someone Who Disagrees With Everything You Say
You see financial trouble in the cards. The querent says their money is fine. You see problems with an ex. They say the past is in the past. The Tarot suggests a best course of action and the querent says “In what H*LL would that EVER work???”
Oh, I’ve been there. See the time I read a man’s Tarot and it said he had big doubts about his marriage and he denied it (turns out he was actively having an affair). Or the time I told a querent she could end up in serious trouble if she didn’t cut off her ex, but she said her ex wasn’t an issue (and then confessed he was breaking into her apartment at least once a week).
A Frightened Querent
“Don’t tell me anything bad!” they might say. “Even if you see it, don’t tell me!” But at the end of the reading, they start wondering whether I saw something “bad” and didn’t say anything…or if their reading really was all sunshine and lollipops. And they leave their reading more terrified than if I had just told them everything I saw.
I try to explain that upfront when someone says they’re nervous about hearing “bad things,” but it doesn’t always help. Even promising them that Tarot is more of a weather forecast getting you prepared for whatever is to come than it is a doom and gloom oracle, sometimes, people come in scared and leave petrified. Oof!
A Question You Don’t Want To Answer
I have a strict policy about not answering medical questions. I’m not a doctor and the Tarot should not be where anyone goes to find out about a diagnosis. But even so, I’ve fielded heartbreaking questions that have no good answers: “When will they die?” “When will I die?” “Do they love me anymore?” “Why did (traumatic event) happen to me?”
Naturally, I have sympathy for why someone would want to know something like that. But how I answer, if I answer, is a deeply complicated choice. Sometimes, it’s more ethical not to answer. Sometimes, it’s more ethical to encourage them to re-word their question.
None of these are easy.
And this is why I created my new Tarot intensive.

This full virtual weekend open to only 14 students will help burgeoning readers break through some of their most challenging obstacles in Tarot, and support seasoned readers in sharpening their skills further.
The Advanced Tarot Intensive will explore:
* Identifying themes and answering the “Unasked” question
* Deepening understanding of Reversals and positioning
* Designing spreads to support specific questions
* Supporting challenging querents
* Exploring ethics in reading
When and Where:
Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. While the sessions will be recorded, attending live is strongly encouraged as participants will be utilizing hands-on practice for themselves and other participants. Intensive will be held by Zoom.
Fee:
-$320 for full weekend. $160 due upon acceptance to secure place. Final $160 due by November 4.
OR
-$288 upon acceptance (a 10% savings)
Optional add-on:
$60 – 45 minute private mentoring session via Zoom. Must be scheduled no later than January 31, 2027.
