“How do I use Tarot cards to connect with Ancestors?”
It’s easier than you may think!
Not only is Tarot wonderful for finding out what the future might hold or the best way to navigate a situation, it can also be a speed-dial (pardon the geezer millennial reference…) to our Ancestors. And given the time of year, it’s the perfect time to dial in.
Particularly if you are new to connecting with Ancestors, this week’s Tarot spread will provide some helpful insight into who might be open to connecting with you, how they might help you, and (most importantly!) do you want their help.

Top Card – Deliberate Pull: What You Would Like Help With
If you are new to deliberate pulls, this is a practice when you flip through your deck and consciously choose a card that, in your mind, best represents your situation. For example, if I needed help with money, I might choose the Ace of Pentacles or another card that represents money. If I were on the dating scene and wanted help meeting someone, I might choose the 2 of Cups as it shows to people connecting. The key here is deliberately choosing a card that you think best symbolizes your situation, as opposed to randomly drawing a card (which is what people typically do in Tarot readings)
Note: The Next Four Cards Are Pulled At Random (As typically done in Tarot readings)
1.) Which Ancestor(s) want to help
For some of my students, it was immediately obvious which Ancestor(s) wanted to connect with them. If you are struggling to determine which Ancestors are being indicated by this card, last week’s Tutorial may help.
2.) How this Ancestor may help you
If you seek help from this Ancestor, here is how that help might manifest!
3.) What they need from you in order to help you
A ritual? A prayer? An call to action? Maybe a call to a living grandma once in a while?
4.) How will this Ancestor’s help affect your situation (or not???)
THIS is key. Most Ancestors want to help, but not every Ancestor is capable of helping you in your situation. Using my living self as an example—I’m always game to help a neighbor in need…but let’s hope that help is not to fix their car as I have NO idea what it takes to do that. Ancestors are no different. Some, even with good intentions, might make your situation worse. Take time to review this card before moving forward with getting help from your Ancestors!
